I talked to the builder of the CL-415 and he primed in Pink before covering with Yellow and Red.

That, I must say, would have really helped me with this particular bird! Beware though that the yellow used on those aircraft was not always the same. Some feature a yellow that is distinctly more ‘lemony’ than ‘orangy’..

True, Spain and Greece too are afflicted ! Sad days we are living. And it’s probably not gonna improve in the future.
If you fancy firefighting birds, you could if you’d fancy that try to make a Airbus A400M, now that it was used alongside the canadairs to drop retardant.

Oh, I hope my comments weren’t misconstrued as a bash on Heller kits. They were ‘of the time’, and like most others that were available. And most of the other kit makers’ products were lacking in accuracy and/or details.
They are a good source for odd/rare subjects, like the seaplanes they have, and are a good basis to start with to apply modern detailing skills to. I put together an old Bobkit Renault R5, which is either a Heller rebox, or the other way around, as looking at the Heller Renault assembly instructions, they are the same kit. It built up to be a really nice kit, and is a proud addition to my finished collection.

Yes, I’ve seen those A400 in fire-fighting action, quite impressive indeed! But it’s getting big in 1/72..! I think my next one might instead be a 'copter.. We hear a lot less about them but they do provide a lot of much needed help too!

No offence taken, CrashTestDummy, I do like the Heller kits but I’m well aware of thier limits! Originality was their ‘forte’ back in the 1970s, and that’s when I appreciated them most. Their spell with Airfix was IMHO their worst time, the 1/72 Concorde being one of the worst kit I’ve ever attempted to build..

I’d like to see ICM come out with a 1/48 S64 Erikson fire fighter - 1/35 is just too big.

Nice scheme! I agree that 1/35 (or 1/32) is too big! OK for WWI fighters, WW2 fighters, but anything bigger is just too much for me. Space is at a premium and taking them to shows is a nightmare!

Those props are RetrokiT’s. A few European companies offer them nowadays, including some with much larger blades like those seen on 'copters.
