Put me down for a Mustang. I will decide on the markings later. Can anyone confirm that the Airfix 124 scale kit has markings for big beutiful doll in the box? It will either be BBD or Old crow.
BBD will be as flown by Rob Davies.
Old Crow is flown by the Scandanavian Historic flight.
The GMW has the Airfix kit listed as being the BBD set of markings. I could not tell you if it is issued with others.
Thank you. My local hobby shop still has the old box with bbd depicted on the front of it. If i end up buying a kit without those markings i will do old crow.
I figure I might want in to this… um I got a question… I plan on doing the 105mm in front of the VFW and would it be ok if the completed model was donated to them?
Absolutely. I was thinking the same thing depending what I do. If I go with either the Stuart or Patton tanks that are within a stone throw of here I am I was going to donate the dio. Almost put it in the rules… well more of a suggestion. Can’t force someone to give their model away.

In my opinion a modeller should not have to ask permission to donate his model to a local museum from anyone. He or she built the model and proberably spent many hours making, convering and painting the model. It is his or her choice what she does with it.

I’ve worked out what it is I am going to do. I was looking through my stash list and realised I have an Airfix boxed set of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF). They are 1/72 Spitfire IIa, Hurricane IIc and Lancaster BIII. They are owned and maintained by the RAF and fly at airshows etc every year. I’ll do all 3 as part of this GB.
Here’s the BBMF website. They currently have 5 Spitfires, 2 Hurricanes, a Lancaster and a Dakota. They also have 2 Chipmunks for training purposes.
