"On The Right Track" Russia 1942 1/35

Here’s my latest diorama: a train hauling damaged Russian tanks is sabotaged and wrecks; here is one train car (I think Sabre 35A03) carrying a damaged Lend Lease Valentine MK.II (Miniart 35096) which crashed down this steep slope. Now a German soldier (Royal Model RLM209, intended for Hitlerjugend Division 1944, but I’m having it be Wiking) and Russian soldier (3D printed from CG Trader) are inspecting the wreck without knowing that each other are there. Okay, I doubt it’s super realistic, but… I had fun with it. By the way, the “On The Right Track” part refers to the Valentine sitting on its right track - its kind of a joke. But I don’t mean that this is the right train track…

fantastic! The train car especially is awesome. Some more pictures would be highly appreciated. The Wiking guy seems to be gazing far out at the steppe, while the Soviet’s pose gives an indication that he has spotted his enemy and moves to flank him. Anyhow this is great

The only way you could have been more dedicated to that pun would be to have your left arm and left leg amputated and tell concerned friends and family that you were “All right”

Nice work with this one! - It’s not just a couple of models, or just a diorama, but like we’re in the middle of a story that’s still playing out…

Nice job! I hope the crew were not in that tank when this happened.

Being in transit, there probably wasn’t a crew assigned yet… The future crew were probably still training on BT’s and T-26’s and hoping like hell that they would be sent to the front in something more survivable

I really love this. Such drama — that just happened, and is about to happen!

And I think the name is perfect. Thanks for posting these extra photos as well.

Thanks @Toimi_Tom! :grinning:

It just looks great from all different angles. Great job!

Thanks @MR_TOM_SCHRY!

This is a very fine diorama and the title suits it. The Russian soldier should have the element of surprise on his side and in war, you never know what circumstances occur. BTW, you did a very nice job on the German camouflage.

Thanks Manuel! I appreciate that.

Scenes like this draw folks in for a more in depth look and to follow the storyline of what’s happening in them. You’ve put together a very captivating and detailed scene here Solomon. Thank you for sharing this one with us. :+1:

Thanks a lot Joe @mustang1989!

Nice looking diorama! But on a technical note military vehicles traveling on railroad flatcars are tied down onto the flat cars with cables or chains.

Thanks @stikpusher! Yeah, I guess that’s true - you wouldn’t want them falling off.
