Well most of you all know this kit from a previase post, well ive started it and so far so good the one issue ive had is that the intake and engine dont have alignment pins on them and the plastc is real hard a stringie. So far ive ot the cockpit finished i used the ip decals that came with my 1/48 AM SBC2 and they worked ok i think. Ive also started on the engine and boy these old istructions are a far cry from what we have (see attached pic) now there really isnt any spacific spot to place the parts, but thats what happens when you build a kit this old.
Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about!![:P][yeah] That I.P looks pretty sharp & that engine is sweet[tup]
Just outta curiousity, how does the newer version instructions compare with these?
Good start Rob as always
Bud
Ed as for the istruction i have no clue ive never built any of the newer F-86 kits. This is my first 1/32 scale F-86.
Good start. Good decision. Keep us posted. I love the F86!!

Hay i aint gona rush this i still have to add all the little bits of tubing to the engine. And have to wait to get some tenex7R.
Who’s rushin’ ya Rob??? We just hava thing fer pics that’s all[swg][#toast]
Insread of using the vynl tubing for the engine piping you could use small gauge copper wire with a black insulation, say 18 or 22 gauge. The wire can be formed to shape and the insulation will last a lifetime. The vynl cracks. If I remember correctly the kit has vynl tires and plastic wheels, but it included a set of plastic tires and wheels. If your kit has both I would opt for the plastic wheels and tires. The vynl tires dry out in time and crack. Everything looks great so far.
Oh the tubing that came with the is garbage i decided before i started build that i was going to use the insulation off of my Fiber optic cable, its the same dia. I havent decided about the tires yet the vynl tires are still good no cracks if nothing else i wont glue the hubs on and if and when the vynl gos puff i’ll swop them out.
Good start Smokin! I’ll be watching this one closely even though I told ya not to build it.[(-D]
