Old Bf-109g

Hello, I’ve been kicking around for a few months now and I feel confident now to post pics of my pride and joy from my youth. I’ve been out of it for about 10 years and this Bf-109G is from when I was 14. It was the first serious build I did, I got first in junior models of the 1991 IPMS Edmonton contest [:D] (tooting my own horn here). It was completely done with bristle brushes and I didn’t even know about the joys of future or airbrushes back then!

I took some pics while I was repairing it from unpacking. My current builds (Typhoon and Hurricane) are so much fun, I’m so glad I’m back in the hobby[:p]

I scratched the cockpit and armoured glass in the conopy, cut the landing flaps, leading edge flaps, and repositioned the stabilizers. Weathering was pastels. I had built 10 or so models after this one but none as detailed so this one is still my “baby”. I am much more knowledgable now so when I finish my Typhoon and Hurricane, I’ll post them for your criticle viewing.
Thank for letting me share.[:)]

you did a nice job on that one for beeing so young. Cant wait to view your more recent ventures in this addiction…er…hobby

looks good Jay!!! ESPECIALLY for the age you did it at!!

Something to be proud of no matter what age you were when it was built. [tup] Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, the next hardest step is to convince my wife I need more models![:D]

I wish my early builds loked half as good as this, nice work
