I been looking around for bits and pieces to detail my up coming Tiger and I am having problems. I simply dont know all the different German name stuff. Looking through a list of am stuff I think I seen the name Tiger twice. This leaves me a bit confused on what I am looking for. Could you all help me with what these tanks are actually called and help me with my search for Am for it.
I am building Tamiya’s Tiger 1 again, same kit as my first one. I was going to their other kit that has the Zimm with it but after finding a couple of things I decided against it. If the Dragon one offers more then I can go with it. I am more familiar with Tamiya is all because of the planes I build.
Thanks for helping me out.

The formal name for them would be PanzerKampfwagon VI.
they are also known as the Sd.Kfz. 181
What type of AM stuff are you looking for? Resin zim? Interior.
Let me know and I’ll see what I can find on the web.
Go to www.greatmodels.com and click on cross reference on the left. Then set the search for WWII German Military vehicles, using the drop down menus. The Tiger I is in the right column, 10 from the top (says "SdKfz 181 PzKfpw VI Ausf E Tiger I ". Click on that and it will show you everything they have for only that tank. Most times if you click on one of the item, it will tell you which kit it is for
I’m not sure what you mean by the Dragon kit. Dragon makes a King Tiger, but not a Tiger I.
Isn’t that a braille scale DML Tiger 1 in Reb’s signature? Hey Woodbeck, are you building 1/72nd or what?[:)][:-^]
Sorry thought Dragon made a 35th Tiger. Thanks for letting me know what the formal name is… I seen that everywhere.
I am looking at everything to put on it… barrel, tracks, resin pe inside and out.
Tamiya has recently issued a 1/35 Tiger I (late production, I think) with aluminum barrel, metal tracks and PE parts. Although without the full interiors, it looks like a very good kit.
Note this one is not the pre-built/completed (masterwork collection) model but an unbuilt kit.
