Very nice, Ron…I love your camo on both spitfires.
Your Thunderbolt looks great too.

Dan

Thanks guys its been awhile for the A/C.[:D]

[tup][tup][tup][;)]

They all look good to me.

A very nice looking Sqn of spits.

Oh boy. These are just too good[:O]. In fact they’re better than what I usually produce and I consider myself an aircraft modeler. I’m wondering about the nmf on that P-47: did you use bare metal foil or heavily buffed SNJ? Looks very very nice indeed Thundergod. Please show us some more pics (some cockpit detail too maybe) when they are finished.[8D][bow]

Looking good.

What scale is the decking?

Karl

That person wearing new shoes?

Way to go thundergod!
What scale are those?

Ya know…I’m not much into WWII A/C but the Jug is really sharp…good job!! [tup] I also like the soft edge camo on the Spitfires… was that done freehand?

Odinson , methinks you have done honourable work,
may your kits grace the hall of Valhalla.
ps:nice shoes too.

Your builds are excellent, the 48 Arii kit is now under the Airfix label, are you putting USAAC markings on the Med scheme or stiking with the RAF ones. Nice job on all.

Rob.

Wow, Ron!! Super job on all three. Which kit is the Jug? You have really done a supurb job, as I knew you would. But I didn’t know we were supposed to be started on this build yet. Guess you’ll just have to do somemore!! lol

Thank you all for the coments on the lawn, its been a wet season here in omaha[:D]
Also the shoes are slightly wheather with actual dirt and coffee. As far as the decking goes I just built it and still cant figure out the scale I need help.

Filibert It is MM aluminum buffable metalizer.

Zokissima they are in 1/48 scale.

A68Trans-AmMustang All free hand baby!!

Lobbie Not sure yet on the decals for the desert scheme yet I have a sheet of after markets for around 7 spits, the green and grey will be in the 401 division as of now the nose art and insignias are on.

and Bill the juge is the pro modeler P-47N. kit # 85-5929.Not sure if she still exist.I got her 7 years ago and put together around 5 years ago.Super kit as well as the spitfires.[:)]

That jug is glorious. Now folks, that long discussion we had this week about coating our planes with NMFs without ruining the sheen is illustrated here. But how, Master Thundergod? Share your wisdom with us. How did you buff up that MM aluminum so beautifully, and keep it so beautiful after fixing it to the plastic for smudgeproofing and decaling? You may be the bearer of the answer of the week. Or, for that matter, OF THE AGES!

Well if memorey serves me right,(it was awhile ago) I buffed it with cottonballs cotton swabs and cotton gloves.
It is important to wear gloves while handleing the kit. Now when I buffed it with all of the above each one gave it a different sheen so to speak, along with how hard you apply pressure, the harder the more sheen but careful not to buff off the metalizer. Most importantly use a primer coat to find any sanding marks or seams for this stuff will it all.

Dont remember the primer used I think I used MM neutral grey, let this dry 48hours. Now I did not use the MM sealerforit dulls the shean[:(!]
For decals I applyed them right on the shiney surface with no gloss coat and no gloss coat after wards.I used solva set and testors setting solution for this.

NOW for the finger print issue… The only and I mean only timileft finger print on the kit was

  1. after eatting Mcdonaldes fries of potatoe chips and not washing my hands.

  2. after wipeing my sweaty face

  3. BEFORE I buffed it (touching it with my bare hands)

The key is to have clean hands free of oils o fany kind. Also it sees to become good as regular old paints after age.
Here is a few pics of my F-86 that went wrong first pic is not letting the primer dry look behide cockpit and sanding mars on the wings second over head view thrird is the seam in the rear.

very nice
