I’m sorry to keep on bringing this up, but I have just spent the last week looking for some information and pics for the Humvee. The parts that I’m looking at, is the stand for the Radio, and which version of the new one would go in. I’ve seen so many differant combunations of them in pics, but I would like to know which one normal gose in, and the postions of the speakers and the wiring, and what kind of wire would be best to use, and what would you use for the card that attachest to the handheld part, and how do you make the colies for it, and things like that. Also I’m in need of some pics of the pasanger side, so I can see were the air hoses on the inside go, and whats the best methead to make those look really, and any other useful information. I’m also in need of some pics of the part on the back on the humvee that gose on the trunk what would hold equipment.
Also how tall in 1/35 with the antenas be. Is their any kits out their that show the storage handles as well on the back. also if tanxheaven has some of these pics, could someone send them to me or something like that, for some reason, my internet will not load the page, and I have this feeling that their might be some good pics on their of what I need as well. Again, sorry for the inconvinsion, but I’m in needed of some help with this project that I’m doing.
I’m working on an OIF Humvee as well, in 1/35th. The coils on the antennae base. I use small thin sodor (the silver thread material you use w/ a sodering gun.) and I wrap it around something of about the diamiter I need. The soder holds its shape very well. I have some friends serving in Iraq and I ask them questions whenever I see them about the equipment. The radio, from what they told me some sit on a small table platform, either on two legs and attached to the console in the back. Others rest on heavy springs closer to the center floor of the vehicle.The speakers from the one that my friends used was loose and had rubber feet under it and a clip that would hold it to the top of the radio. The wire bundels were collected up in the back of the radio and ran into the console through a piont (If I remember right.) on the right side of the radio. The had theirs tied together with duct tape. Also the sand wore on pretty nuch everything on the inside of the vehicle. This tended to ware out the seats and some of the other apperatus inside. They said that the inside of the Hummer was worn out when they got back. Also if you can watch the military channel for reruns of a show called “over there” I think thats the right title. There are tons of shots and info on the hummer along with use and equipment stowage. One carried two radios, and had the mike hanging from the roof over the passenger seat.
I don’t seem to recall taking specifically any photos of the radio mount.
M1114 w/ BFT, two SINCGARS radios. The two old speakers are the cube-type items lying just under the screen. They weren’t tied down or any such.

Two SINCGARS radios on an M998. Eventually we ended up nailing the speakers to the plywood roof, for now the hand-mikes are dangling on a ‘washing line’ of paracord.
