OIF Fuel tankers

Does anyone know what the fuel tankers being used in Iraq at the moment are and if you know if anyone makes one as a 1/35th scale kit???[C):-)]

If you’re referring to the M978 HEMTT tanker, eg. http://data.primeportal.net/pb_m978/170632098eCrzaA_fs.jpg

There is a kit by Italeri. http://misc.kitreview.com/armourreviews/m978tankerreviewcs_1.htm http://www.primeportal.net/m978/pb_m978_model.htm

I’m not sure about the current availability of this kit though.

good luck in trying to find a m-978. i have one thats about 50% done right now. you can usually get them on ebay but except to pay a high price for one.

If Italeri reissues it, expect the retail price to be $35+, so if you start looking on eBay and for private sales, expect the current price to be at least that much.

Hello there you guys since hunter did not say and specify what version I thought I would take a stab at this here’s some photos links:

Now if you can’t get the M978 Oshkosh Fuel tanker version there are a lot of othere tanker and truck types that are easyer to get your hand’s and or convert if your in to that. The 1 is a different type from the Oshkosh brand, info below first image.

To build this truck from using scratch-building means you could use this kit’s from Italeri. The M923A1 Big Foot 5-Ton truck with oversized off-road tires. For it’s chassis and tire set up and build ever thing that you need from scratch. Now if the tires don’t have the right tred on them you can always go for a resin set.

Good luck in what-ever you pick to do.

The above info is not correct at all. The M900 series and FMTV 5-ton chassis are nothing alike. Just because they are both 5 tons, doesn’t mean they are similar. If you want an FMTV, which is not a fueler anyways, Trumpeter has announced a future release of the 2 1/2 ton LMTV version that could be converted to an FMTV 5 ton version.

Please don’t just spew out incorrect info that you are guessing at. It ends up confusing people in the end and making things worse.

Also, the other fueler you linked to is a Brirish fueler and not used by the US. Additionally, the British forces are pulling out of Iraq and have almost no armor or fuelers to support them left in country.
