Oh S*&^%t

I would have had my 109 finished today. BUT as I was putting on the last decal (the jg27 badge) my solveaset ran down the fusalage wreaking the rest of the decals where my fingers were holding the model[:(]. So I in my ham fisted way tried to use a little polly S easy lift to replace them it worked really well except it also took off the paint[xx(]. Well to make a long story short I stripped off all the paint and will repaint a decal.

P.S. dose any one out their have a set of decals for Marseille 109f they would be willing to part with?

Oh man, that’s too bad, worgoose!! [xx(] That happened on a a model race care I had one time, after being all decaled and glossed and ready yo roll, I knocked over the jar of liquid cement on it… [:0]… I stripped it all down to the bare plastic (about 9 years ago), and it’s still out there in the box… probably always will be! [}:)]

I’m sorry I can’t help you out with the decals, but hopefully someone in here will be able to.

Best of luck,
Take care,
Frank

Solvaset is mighty strong and I only use it for stubborn decals.I suggest next time that you use Microset and microsol which are just as effective without the danger of trashing the other decals. At this point the only option that you have is to strip the model down,re-paint and re-decal.An expensive lesson that you will not forget!

I don’t know if I have any 109F decals, but I’ll take a look. What scale was it? Was this the sheet?

There was another -F sheet at Squadron but it was not Marseille. Best of luck though! - Calvin

I know I have some 109f decals at home but they are 1/72 scale. let us know what scale you need.

I’m surprized the reaction happened so quickly. Normally it takes a few seconds for the solvent to react & you could have just let the decals recure.

GEEZE! That blows. Sorry to hear that. Just take it easy.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Some lessons are expensive and painful. I have “dumb thumbed” things like that all too often.
