Oh happy me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[:D][:D][:D] I just recently got a remote control aircraft kit of the P-40 that has a wing span of 40 inches. The only bad part is that i have to buy the remote, but hey why should i complain. LOL the only other bad part is finding time to build it, let alone flying it.

If all you need is 4 channels for that P-40, you will be able to buy a nice radio for it for not a lot of dough. Check out Futaba radios.

I agree, the Futaba 4 channels are great - I have one for my sport flyer. I just sold my 1/4 scale P-40 with 7 channel Airtronics. Suggest you check with your local R/C club on second hand radios and field kits as well. If you are not experienced flying R/C you might want to spend some time on a shoulder wing first, tail draggers and low wing aircraft take some skill.

good luck on building it and landing it

Hey Swanny- who’s model was that 1/4 scale P-40? was it a 2 or 4 cycle?

It was an old kit - can’t really remember who manufactured it but I built it about 10 years ago. Had a big .60 OS Max 2 stroke in it, pnuematic retracts, flaps, anti flutter tabs, bomb drop for limestone package. I had installed just about everything I could but finding the time to get out to Nasa Plumb Brook and fly it - that was the hard part and what ultimately lead to its sale. Still have the sport plane and a slope soarer but they mostly gather dust these days.

Thanks for the ideas for how to go about getting the radios. I have a shoulder wing one but havent had the time to fly it and the weather really hasnt been the best to fly it. Hopefully i could get a nice day one of these weekends to fly my shoulder wing one. We used to have a R/C aircraft park here, but they tore it up and now its just a cow pasture. [:(] I guess i am going to have to look around for another place to fly.

Hey falcon039. Like the others have said check with your local R/C hobby shop and ask them if they have a place to fly. most stores have one or know where one is in the aera. I must also go with the guys about the radios they are the best on the market. I am a full service hobby shop owner myself. If you need some help with parts or just some ideas give me a shout and I will help.
