Off to the Scilly Isles for the Day - Sikorsky S-61NM Helicopter - Whirlybird Conversions

After 2 years of stop-start modelling, I have finally finnished my Whirybird Conversions 1/72 S61NM Helicopter. This appeared in the R.E.M.E. Technology Museum Model Show this weekend and generated a lot of interest. I recommend the kit to anyone who is interested in helicopters and resin models but be aware you will also need to invest in the Revell 1/72 Sea King (any version) for many parts as the host kit. I spent my youth travelling over to the Scilly Isles on this service in the 70’s through to the 90’s so the diarama has personal meaning for me - however the service was axed last year - such a shame…and please enjoy

that’s all for now folks

Wow, that isnot your average diorama that you see on here. Very nicely done! Where did all the figures come from? Railroad figures?

Hi thanks for the kind words. Another forum asked for better pictures so here are a few more for you. The figures are Preisser Passenger and Airport sets

A truly excellent build Sir …[t$t]

John .

thank you

That is really a different look at things. I like it a lot. Very nice.

Nice looking build. I have flown on this type more times than i care to mention down in the Falklands. I believe the Sciliy Isles flights are now run by the same firm. Nice aircarft to fly in, even if the comforts are pretty basic.

Thanks for shareing.
