SAMCON model contest on Oct. 3 in Durand, Illinois. West of Beloit, WI and just slightly across the Wis./Illinois state line. Flyers and other information below.
IMPORTANT NOTE!
The SAMCON model contest for 2026 has been moved to the Durand High School. Map below. Do not go to the church location as mentioned in the flyer.
I have edited my post above as the location of the contest has now been moved to the Durand High School. See the map.
I think the special category entry is a great idea. I didn’t know there was another Fortress being restored. This is fantastic.
SAMCON is today. I’ll be going with a friend. Is anybody else planning to go?
I’ll be bringing at least 2 models. Still deciding if I’ll bring a third as the contest entry fee says 3 models for $10.
Went to the SAMCON contest today with a friend. Good location, but insanely crowded. The tables were filled to the brim with models. I took three models (Pictured below), but didn’t win anything. But that’s ok. I really just wanted to take pics of other people’s stuff and also browse the vendor tables.
I’ll post more pics from the contest, but it may have to wait until Monday perhaps.
