O.K. I'll Bite

[?] How do I upload my pics of latest humvee model. I admit I am stupid but I just can’t seem to get them from my pictures to a post[:(] Help please[:)]

  1. get an account with www.photobucket.com (they’re free)

  2. upload your pics to them and they’ll give your pic a URL (address) - you’ll see it when you get there

  3. cut and paste the URL into your post between the image tags (see " *Show Forum Code " to the left of your post/reply text area).

  • voila!

layman’s terms:

You need to load the pics onto a hosting site first. www.photobucket.com is good for your own free account, or you can use rons site (see FAQ’s in the FSM site index for details how to do it) if you don’t mind the pics getting wiped after a while. Follow the steps to open your photobucket account and when you open your own album page you will see 'add pictures" follow your nose on how to do that. .jpg’s or .gifs are best as .bmp’s are too large and time consuming to load. Your camera should take .jpg’s.

When the pics are uploaded you will see a smaller version of the pic lower on your screen. Under that are three boxes, the first has 'URL ’ next to it. In that first box is the address for your pic - should start http and finish .jpg. right click on that box then click on copy from the pop up menu.

Then go to the FSM forum and start your post. In the text box type:
but do not put in the space (if I didn’t put it in you would not see what I typed here)
then right click after the end of the ] and click on paste from the pop up menu. The URL will now be added after the bracket. Then straight after that type [/img ] again without the space but make sure you add the forward slash in front of the img. There must be no spaces at all starting at the first [ and finishing with the last ].

This is HTML speak. the first bracketed img tells the server that the next info is an image that you want it to link to. The last bracketed /img tells the server that the url information stream is finished. Before hiting "post to thread’ do a preview to see if it links okay.

Cheers.

I’ll try it thanks
