Nice looking scenario. With all the Shermies running around, I just don’t know that the Jagdtiger would come “out to play” so to speak. I think of it more hull down.
I like the way you’re planning this out, taking your time and getting info. I would check about the hedgerow setting, these monsters were real late in the war. Otto Carius was given his in the Ruhr pocket. I think the hedgerows were primarily in France, Normandy and such. I’m not sure if they existed in Germany.
I remember reading that the Allies had a lot of trouble with the hedgerows at first because they didn’t know what they really were. Aerial recon didn’t show them to be as formitable as they turned out to be.
That’s just my thoughts, even if hedgerows don’t exist in Germany. doesn’t mean they don’t have small hills with trees.
I like the ‘confusion’ the figures suggest. Can’t wait to see 'em with heads.
i think you’re coming along nicely with your dio thundergod. You could probably squeeze a kubel or schwimmwagon in there without getting too busy with it. Let us see how it turns out!

Thanks guys. I think I have to many ideas[:P] But the basic plan is laid out.The sherman will be removed and replaced with the schwimmwagen. Shermy is there for prop purposes and to show off[:O] the size of the JT.
TG. The best dio’s tell a simple tale but should direct the eye to the main item of interest - the vehicle. The secondary vehicle/figures need to be the things that are telling the story being delivered. I’ll give you some advice based on my past experiences which I hope will be of use to you.
I would do a smaller base for a first go. Just big enough to have the despatch rider on his bike alongside the JT. The figure you have is ideal for a commander talking to the rider. A simple but very effective set piece.
Why do it this way? Large bases needs lots to fill the gaps other wise they look just like a couple of models on a board. 'Fillers" are easy, water filled arty craters, discarded track links, old boxes, jerry cans, etc - but it is easy to overdo it and easier still to under do it, especially during your first attempts (trust me on this - been there, done that, seen that ). Also larger boards require a lot of static grass, clumps of long grass, trees, etc, and getting that to look right also takes practice.
Two large models on a board can look crowded and splits the view of the beholder. More than two vehicles (even as small as motor bikes) can also make the layout crowded. You want them to look at your fanastic JT, not ‘look a few models together and oh, look one is a tank (destroyer)’ . The bike emphasises the size of the JT nicely in what you are proposing and is great, but the second bike begs the viewer to ask ‘why 2 bikes at the same place?’ I hope all I’ve said makes sense.
Take a look around some of the stuff in the dio forum, ask those guys for some tips, and I’m sure you will be happy with the result.

So many ideas in the head.The idea was at first on a small board no larger than the tank. then I got another idea and an other and another till I came up with a late fall early winter them seeing over half my figures are in winter getup,then the Motos came into play with the map readers stoppedin the middle of the road trying to figure out were they are and the JT commander tellin the dispatcher to move out the way as the JT is in actuality lost his self. Confusion fusion is a working title.

Great builds… Remindes me of the story of the US armored column halted by a disabled JT parked accross the road. They had to wait until a road could be cut in the woods around it to pass…

Im now entertaianing the idea of the knocked out sherman in the way, got an old jumbo that I think will do the trick.

You seem to get a great deal of enjoyment from shermans getting knocked out. Perhaps if the turret were blown off, there would be additional comedic possibilities by showing the dead crew. Blood, guts, and brains scattered about the inside of the turret would make for a real nice dio. Maybe as an added challenge, some very small photos of the tank commander’s wife and kids could be strewn about.
Shermans were terribly vulnerable to German anti-tank weapons, but somehow I have never found the deaths of 5 soldiers to be a cause for cheer.
