NOS Tanks

HEY,
I am almost done with the model i am working on right now and i am going to make some changes on my next one. One of them is a NOS system, but i don’t know what i can use for a tank of nitrous. Everything i’ve thought of is too big or oddly shaped. Can you help me?

I’ve seen a few companies that make detail NOS kits…

If you want to home make, you could try molding one out of Fimo…that’s all I can think of right now, I’m sure others will have some good ideas too.

Detailmaster makes a nice kit…I just picked up a set a few days ago…

I pulled a coulple of oxygen bottles out of my spares box from 1/48 scale a/c, painted them light blue and plumbed them with wire. Came out great. And certainly cost a lot less than an aftermarket detail kit.

HEY,
Thanks nwilliams. I was looking for a cheaper way to do it. What model did you get the parts from do ya know? If you dont thanks anyway.

Great idea! I’ll have to keep that in mind when I get a enough spare parts from other kits.

Is what you can do is, take an air tank out of a lego set, and use that for NOS tanks. Hope that helped you:)

If you have any old fire extinguishers from other kits they work nicely.

HEY,
Thanks alot dello. I still have lego’s… somewhere. I have lots of air tanks tho. Thanks again.

Actually a nice fat sprue should do just fine. NOS bottles aren’t that big in real life and with a little shaping for the neck and wire for the hose, you should be done. Just don’t forget the injector plate under the carb, hehehe …

Archer out.

Detail master has a really nice set of NOS tanks. They’re priced ok too.

The AMT F&F Supra kit has some nice NOS tanks.[:D]

Not to be nit picky but ‘NOS’ is the actual name of the nitrous system that Holley manufactures. ‘NOS’ stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems. Anyway, you can also use any old spare missiles or armament from military planes. Works for me![8D]
