can any one give me information on the color of the seats for a northropP-61 black widow, reason Im asking is that my monogram kit intructions for my 1/48 scale P61 doesn’t mention anything about the color of the seats only the area around the cockpit and the instrument panels any information would be most appreciated-thank you
Go to militaryfactory.com In the aircraft section click on night fighters. There is a link for the P-61. There is one photo of the cockpit. The seat appears to be black leather. Hope this helps.
Painted mine as follows: Pilot’s seat - interior green… Gunner & R.O.'s chairs - dark brown leather cushions with interior green frames

couple ref pics I saw showed a dark leather seat back (looked brown to me.)
Also the two back seat frames are a bit off, I scratched new framing from wire. For the pilot seat, I made a back pad out of masking tape and scratched the framework from stretched sprue. The kit framework is like 6 inch tubing!!!
The AF Museum has one shot of the cockpit which shows an interior green seat frame and a black leather seat cushion which might not be right. As the photo shows, the IP is not totally filled with instruments so it could be inaccurate anyway. Some times the AF Museum doesn’t do an accurate restoration as evidenced by photos of the B-24.

may I ask you how you did the seat belts and the cushion on the pilot seat or one more thing is the kit a monogram or a revell -thank you
The kit is the Revell boxing 1/48.
For the cushion, I doubled over some masking tape a couple times. Cut it to shape, then layed on another piece of masking tape on the front, trimmed around the edges, and folded it over to the back side.
Seatbelts are cut strips from a foil “Crystal Lite” mix tub top. I usually just use masking tape, but decided to try something different on this one. I have a “wip” going on in the “Red, White and You” group build if you wanna check in on any progress(starts on pg 7 I think)
