NordicCon 2025 - 9/27/25 - Inver Grove Heights, MN

I’m planning to pop in tomorrow for at least a walk thru. Any other FSM members gonna be there? I’ll make a point to say hi!

I’m not in the area but I’d love to see some photos.

I can no longer drive . My normal ride to TCAH events was sick, so I didn’t make it. I too would like to see pics. FS sometimes shows a package, and other attenders have in past- hope someone does this year.

I had planned to go and made it about halfway there but a kidney stone intervened. Maybe next year.

@missileman2000 and @MR_TOM_SCHRY – I’m sorry to have missed you guys – next time, eh?

This was my first “model show” and I only had about an hour, so I didn’t take a whole lot of photos – it was pretty crowded – but I did interrupt @Tim_Kidwell1 while he was doing some pro photography, so I’m sure we’ll get to see some good stuff.

The showing of aircraft and autos was really strong, which I imagine isn’t a surprise – but the sci fi section had some awesome builds, too.

Loved this kitbash of a BanDai Zaku and a JoyToy 40K space marine!

Honestly all the categories had a bunch of quality builds and a few stand outs – probably the coolest thing about the experience was seeing all the other enthusiasts. Someone entered PILE of 72nd scale WWII fighters at a level of detail that is hard to even fathom. :exploding_head:

This Wildcat was my pic for the “people’s choice” award, but I might be a bit biased toward the 'cats after the saturation of Navy fighters at Oshkosh Airventure this summer.

This diorama had my wife and I both gawking for a full five minutes, finding all the little details. Really impressive.

There was another WWI trench/tank dio that I neglected to photo but that was probably my fave.

This 3D printed ID10 seeker droid was super awesome – the red light/lensing effect makes it feel like a 1980’s ILM creation.

And there were more than a few Games Workshop 40K entries which were fun to see.

Really glad I made the drive. Next year, with a little planning, maybe we can do a FSM forum meet-up? Oh, and the next “local” show is in Rochester, MN, 2/7/2025, hosted by the Zumbro Valley Scale Modelers. Going to try to make that one too.

Good to see you at the show! Yes, there will be a gallery of select models online soon and then a gallery will appear on the March/April 2026 issue.

As always, a great show to attend and plenty of excellent models to choose from to photograph.
