No Wires Attached(With Tail Hook Photos)

After Loooonnnngg last Ive finnally managed to finish this litle 172 Hasagawa F-14a.

I always thought what a shame to have to hide the landing gear for a plane in flight or to put a big clear plastic stick up the planes butt or under its belly. So I came up with the Idea of replacing the plastic arresting hook with one made from stainless steel. Well as you can see I have now managed to silence the Naae sayers. The ones that said the kit would be to nose heavy.

With this kit I super detailed the landing gear bays, I exstended all the landing struts, oppened all the vents, added resin seats and Hasagawa figures, scratch built the wing poillers and placed them in the open posithion. I left off all the armorment cause the plane was getting a bit heavy.lol

I painted the kit with MM Enamels,Tamiya accrylics and Future and Humbrol satin. The decals are OOB.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I am to have finnaly finshed it.(one week before the big show in Toronto)

PS: Special thanks to BlackWolf and Eddie Miller for all of those Great landing photos.

Very Nice! And good luck!

Cool job! I especially like the way it’s coming in off kilter. Very nice.

Oh no…not again…I’m getting nothing but red x’s

Red x page cannot be found Photobucket strikes again.

Wow!! Trevor, that’s way cool. What a great idea. To show a bird in flight is one thing, but to have the gear down and landing is just outstanding. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a model posed that way. Great work my friend.

Jerry
