Welcome, everyone to the No Place Like Home GB! This build is about representing your roots through models. Namely you have to build something that represents your current home area (state or province) in some way. It could be that you want to build a jet from a nearby airbase or from one elsewhere in the state. It could be that you want to build a car with plates from your province. From Texas? You could build the P-47 “Touch of Texas”, a plane that was piloted by a Texan, or a T-6 Texan. You get the jist; basically, build anything you can relate back to your home turf.
PS- For those not in Canada or the U.S., please still join. I am not familiar with what regions you have in your countries that would be analogous to states and provinces; but if you can build anything that relates to your area, it is still welcome!
As always, here are the:
GROUND RULES-
-No foul/rude behavior or words, of course
-No scantily or not-at-all clad women on models please
-All models and/or dioramas entered must conform to the requirements and theme of the group build description, naturally
-Crossovers are allowed
-Group build begins January 1, 2023, and runs till you finish your builds. Eager to start? Knock yourself out and start in December 2022. It’s ok.
New sign ups welcome from now through December 31, 2023.
BONUS BADGE: The GB badge is for anyone who completes this build at any time. However, I will do my best to make a custom GB badge for anyone who finishes their entries on or by December 31, 2023, that depicts the flag of their state, province, etc…if they would like it, of course.
Nice choice Gamera. I remember the old revell 1/32 P-51B ‘You’ve had it!’ With similar markings piloted by Capt John England (namesake of England AFB) Now if only I lived in Missouri, I could enter that one!
I live in Michigan, but from Ohio , so I have numerous options. Heck I could just build any car kit :-). We also have the old B-24 Plant at Willow Run, but a 4 engine bomber is probably not in the cards this year. This could be my excuse to finally build a MI ANG RF-84. Also would not be opposed to building another Detroit Miss…
Hey John, hate to be a bother but can I make a slight change in my entry?
Pulled out the P-51B and it’s a Tuskeegee airmen version which I kinda want to build as that aircraft. So I ordered a new Tamiya 1/48th P-51B for this GB. Same aircraft, same pilot, same scale, just a different company.
Alright! I’ve got the group build badge up finally. And remember, I can make you a more personalized badge for your state, province, etc. if you finish within the year should you opt for it.
