nkm1416 asked me a while back to take some pictures of a P-51he dressed in Philippine Air Force colors. You may have seen this particular bird at the end of the P-51 Article of last year’s Warbird Modeling. It took quite a while, but here they are! [:D]
The Pictures themselves aren’t very good; entirely my fault [:(]. I was using my father’s new Digicam, and i couldn’t get the damn thing to focus correctly (in the last one, it focused on the background and not on the subject!), and the flash would wipe out all the detail if i used it, so it’s a bit dark [D)]. The model, on the other hand, is superb! nkm went all out on this one, but I’ll let him be the one to explain things. I hope my sad photography skills don’t detract from the model. Enjoy! [:)]
heeeeyyyyyyy, i like it bubba!! do i need eye glasses or are those pics a little fuzzy?[:D] i would like to do one of those. where did he get the decals? later.
Saltydog, sigman, the markings are decals from Microscale/Superscale Sheet# 72-149. Kit is Hasegawa (1/72)
I’ve wanted to post this model when I saw the same a/c included in the P-51 profiles in Warbird Modeling to show the right colors of the national insignia which should be blue instead of green. Green portions of the emblem on the tail should be blue also. Of note is the sharkmouth. There were several P-51s painted ‘Shark of Zambales’ but there’s variation in the sharkmouth design.
Nkm,
Oh, Im sorry I missed that. It was an in-law thing, kasi. Chores. Hehehe! But I will get to see it soon. Yaay! Better yet, bring it on the 4th Sunday for the BACup.
Shrikes,
Sir, I only got to see your Sabre. Hows the F-86 doing by the way, sir? Finished by the fourth Sunday, sir? Hehehehe! Whats with the “officer” thingy?
Btw, Ill be off to Isabela tonight and probably wont have internet access till Thursday. But we can keep in touch through SMS. Thanks!
