nieuport pics

O.K. guys, this is my wifes 1/48 eduard profipac nieuport (in progress) she did the camo with my pasche AB, and hand painted the bottom. She even tried drybrushing on the engine. I am very proud of her for her progress, and the quality. This is only her second model, and it is 200% better than the one before it. Let her know what you all think of it, and I will make sure she posts pics when it has the decals and tail painted.

thanks all

jim and jennifer

I honestly think its Fantastic! Cant wait to see the finished result. Keep the pics a comin!

Looks good to me keep us posted with the finished pics.

The Nieuport is lookin’ good. A talented modeler with a good instructor. keep the pictures coming.

Jennifer is doing really good work. That’s a difficult build for only the second model. Looks great.

Regards, Rick

Awesome work! Nieuports are very pretty planes.

I really like the camo pattern on this one.

Regards,

WOW!! I recently purchased this model, but have shelved it for the time being. I sure hope I can do it as much justice as your wife has!!!

LOL!!
Jennifer, it’s not a contest winner…but lemme tell you this…I’ll wager my house that it’s about a thousand times better than the second model that any of the other FSM forum users made when they were starting out (most certainly me included)…for a second model, you should be very proud of what you’ve accomplished. I know people who build models that look just like that - and they’ve been building for years and years (some have been building for decades…).
And I have a few questions for you…Are YOU happy with it? Are there mistakes you can identify? Have you learned a few tricks to avoid those mistakes next time?
If so, then you’re suffering from the same disease we all are afflicted with - modellers disease. There’s no cure, sadly. You’ll never be able to escape the pull of the plastic…
With the increase in your building skills that you’ve shown in such a short time, I’ll bet the models you build in a year’s time will be just fantastic, so keep at it - it’s a great learning experience, and you NEVER stop learning or getting better. Keep up the good work - and well done.

Jennifer I second Lee’s comments. You did a great great job. A model to be proud of.
Now tell your husband you want your own AB and compressor, youre own modeling desk and half his stash[}:)][;)]. I hope you stay with this hobby its a very rewarding thing to do, no matter what anyone says about you or your models… good job.
Jeff

LOL!! -
Yeah!! What Jeff Said!!!

Thanks all for the comments on her nieuport. Ill make sure she posts a response.

now for the stash comment…I dont have one of those, but you need to ask my lovely wife about hers[8D] !!!

Once again…thanks all

jim

(she WILL post pics when its done…she didnt think she should post pics before it was done…)

jennifer that is a fantastic work for any builder at any point. you are doing great.

joe

Jennifer, that is a very good looking plane. I like the laminated wood-look on the prop.
Why don’t you join our little community yourself ?

Jennifer here -

I just wanted to say thanks for all the kind words, and yes I have noticed several things I did wrong and figured out how to avoid making the same mistakes next time. I also have to confess I’m the one with the large stash, not my husband. [:D] Another confession is that I’ve been a member here for a while and never had the balls to post anything.

Again, thank you all for the encouragment, and I’ll make sure to lurk less, post more, and finish a few of the models in my stash.

Jen

Nice job.

Wow - There’s not many struts on that thing. Was it a pain to allign the top wing ? You did a good job of it !

Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Chris

Thanks, and yes it was. The fact that the wing fell off after I had it lined up the first time didn’t make things any better either!

Jen

wow, jen !
it’s always nice 2 c the work of another female modeler here,
& i think u really did a great job on that nieuport…
they r just about my fave wwi a/c, i’m building the testor’s kit in 1/48
& have the eduard profipack on the ‘to do’ stack.

Hey Jen,

Keep posting! Your model looks great, and it’s nice to see people who enjoy building biplanes. [:D]

Very nicely done! I like the wood propeller.
