nice seahawk photos

they look like seahawk gunships
but you can tell me what they are

That, Jon, appears to be the Navy’s SH-60F Seahawk. It is based on the Nighthawk helo used by all branches of the military, but is refitted for ASW and SAR operations. In that particular shot, it looks like the SAR loadout.

Hmm… looks to me like an MH-60R. They’re just coming into service and are basically remanufactured SH-60Fs with glass cockpits, upgraded weapons systems and a whole lotta meanness thrown in!

Here’s the link to Sikorsky’s website for the MH-60R:

SH-60B

Oh no… am I gonna have to start building NAVY helos too?

Army, Jon, just Army… You’ve got too many models as it is… no more expanding…

Still, that camo job is pretty friggin cool…

hey Jon (its like talking to my self) if you dont want any more Navy influence, dont watch the film Tears of the Sun, becouse theres some nice seahawks in that

Jon (wow, it is kinda odd!)
Yeah, had to get it on DVD… couldn’t resist. Cooool movie!

Still like the Army birds better, but that’s just personal bias!

Jon,

The photos are U.S. Navy, HH-60Hs. They are from the HS community. An HS squadron comprises of SH-60F and HH-60Hs. The HH-60Hs are used for Combat SAR, Spec Ops, and Surfarce Combat. They usually deploy with the Carriers’ Air Wing.

I’ve been supporting these guys for the past year and a half.

interesting pictures

That’s an awesome camo pattern on the Seahawk. Wondering how one would get the stenciled “NAVY” to change colors like that. I’d imagine spraying over with one color, applying the decal, then spraying the 2nd color, then removing the decal to see the first color underneath. Anyone ever try this method before?
