Well, you can try doing some half tracks. artillery pieces or even armored cars. The range is still too wide considering these three categories so I cannot really be too specific. Maybe you can look around for some kits within these categories first to check whether you are intersted in them.
Welcome to the forums Majjic. I, myself am going to get Dragon’s new 3 in 1 251/D Halftrack. You can make one of three versions. Also I have my set on their new Pak 40 75 mm A.T. Gun. That gives you a few angles, but maybe you can narrow it down a bit for us. Do you prefer WW II or Modern? How about a Humvee?
Hi Majjic,my suggestion would be to get a couple of kits. Both of which would be jeeps. One American and the other Brittish due to you can do a lot with them. The Brittish one I would recommined would be the SAS version. As for the American just look for a plain old standard version. You can use these jeeps in dioramas and buy extra troops to go with them. You can also add a 6 ton truck with these beautifull jeeps. Also you can add an array of weapons to make different versions at your choosing.Digger
Artillery always looks cool. I was thinking about getting Italeri’s M101 105mm towed howitzer. They were used extensively in WWII, Korea, and my dad fired some off in Vietnam.
Just an idea,
Chris
It all depends on your interest that is a pretty big range of models that are non-tank. Do you want something Modern or WWII? Or non-military all together(not many ) I recomend a little research on whats out there, check out some model galleries, I myself am Impressed with Tamiya’s new series of hummvee’s check them out . Good Luck
Hi
Well, if you’re tired of building 1/35 scale tanks, there is a venerable plethora of other 1/35 scale kits. Artillery pieces are allways interesting, halftracks, trucks and transport vehicles. If you want something different, go for the more obscure stuff. May I suggest the Dragon SCUD launcher. Not the greatest of kits to build, but a lot of presence once it’s done. As well, take a look at the many tank transporters that are now on the market, from the FAUN (Trumpeter) to the Dragon Wagon (tamiya).
Tamiya has a nice reboxing of their 222 armored car, complete with aluminum barrel and photo etch. http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=TM35270
American and german Armored cars and halftracks are good for a change… some of the kits are quite good like Tamiya’s M8 (which i’ve done) and M20… simular and waiting on the build pile… Any Dragon/DML 250 haftrack… a challange but comes out great… the new Dragon 3 in one kits are suppose to be awesome from what i hear… …
Some of the older kits can be had fairly cheaply if your frugal… the 223 and 222 armored cars… british daimler armored car… SAS Jeep… British long range desert recon truck… the german Horch 4x4… ect there are many 1/35 non tank kits out there…
Or if you like tanks but want something different you could try Academys Tiger with the full inteirer… (waiting on the shelf till i think my skills are good enough… or Academys M10, or M18 Tank Destoryers… Like tanks but with interiers…
I’m just starting Tamiya’s duce and a half… CCKW 353 for the move it campain myself… as soon as i finish up this wingy thing i’m working on…
Tamiya #35248 Marder III 76.2 cm excellent kit ! very fun to build too ![8D]
I prefer WW II stuff, mostly German
And, i’m almost finished my Hummel, thats why i started this topic!
Ok thanks for your help guys,
I’ll think about this one!
hey majjic, welcome!! try an M8, or an SP. i agree with the others also, halftracks are nice as well. hope you like what u get!![:D]
