Hey everyone, about to be out of town for a week so taking a break from modeling until I return. Once i get back in town, I plan on getting some of the Tamiya Panel Line Accent to take my models up a notch. And since I currently cannot use an airbrush in my current living situation, I am looking for other ways to make modeling more enjoyable as well as challenging.
So the Tamiya Panel Line Accent can be applied after I gloss coat my model, apply decals, gloss coat, then do the wash correct? Okay, when I am ready to remove the excess, I have read to use enamel thinner. But, since Tamiya enamel thinner is so hard to find in the US, can I use something easier to get a hold of, such as Testors enamel thinner? Just curious to see what some of you have used. I know that lighter fluid and mineral spirits do the trick, but trying to find other alternatives that work. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
From what ive seen, and done myself, is you put some panel liner on and allow it to set up for a bit, then take a q-tip with some thinner on it and blend/wipe off the excess until you’re happy with it. I used normal lacquar thinner and it worked just fine, hope that helps!
Thank you all for the feedback. Just wanted to make absolutely sure I didn’t need to have Tamiya thinner as the only option. Looking forward to trying this stuff out in the near future!
