New Tamiya offerings in US Armor...

What’ll y’all think of the new 1/35th M10 and M40 kits???

They seem like good solid Tamiya offerings,I will add the M40 to my stash eventually.

[:P]. They both look good, and the figs are outstanding, especially those with the howitzer…I’lol probably snag the M10…

The AFV Club M40 is a very nice kit, but wasn’t a big seller since the vehicle only served in the Korean War and not WW2 except for a lone prototype. I don’t expect to see folks dump their old ones to get a pricey Tamiya one. The Academy M10 was highly regarded, however everyone seems eager to get the new Tamiya one.

Got a M-10 and it looks great. Payed about $30.00(at a model show). Working the M4A3E8 payed $35.00(at Hobby Town USA). Going to get the M40 and expect to pay about 75.00 which is about the standard for price for model these days. The M40 is an excellent addition to the Tamiya lineup.

I have the AFV Club M40 GMC. My Dad served on these in the Michigan Guard 1950-1954. It looks like a good kit. IIRC there was an inaccuracy that Redleg corrected in his build, the barrel length I think. I have his build log saved somewhere.

The M10 and Easy 8 were great kits from Tamiya. Also want to try out their new SU76.

I’d like to get the M40. Not so sure about the M10.

I just picked up the M-10 last week, and first look is very promising. Also, other sites have given it excellent reviews. Bogies are new tool, hull and turret shapes appear to be much more accurate than either Academy or AFV Club, and it’s blessed with the easy buildability of recent Tamiya kits as well.

I have the Academy kit in progress, and will probably hold on it until I can start the Tamiya kit and actually do some “apples to apples” evaluations.

[:P]My wolverine is on the way…figures look good as well…
