I was able to post some more pictures of the workshop I’m just now getting started on removing he mud and am now able to at least reach the model to pull them off the lower shelves. On a sadder note I found my dog dead on my work bench she drowned in the first few minutes of the flood and came to rest on the counter when the water came down.
Also I posted a lot of pictures of damage to the different areas of the Parish, take a look and let me know what you think.
Terrible to hear you lost your pet in such a tragic manner. Houses, models and belongings can be replaced, but pets seem to take a piece of you with them when they go.
Jake, I’ve run out of things to say about this tragic situation. We’ve had our share of hurricanes and floods here in NC (we lost a car in Floyd, back in '99), but never anything to compare with what you folks have experienced this fall. I can only imagine what it would be like to lose a pet under such conditions. My heart goes out to you.
What did you’all think of the 60’ shrip boat sitting in the middle of the street. It was docked 5 miles away in Bayou Beinvinue (sp). The power of water is truly great. It has been proven that the water was moving at 8’ per second! NOTHING COULD STAND IN IT"S WAY!
BTW the house with the foundation attached still is my niece’s house, It was built 2 1/2 blocks away from where it landed!
Jake my sypathy for your pet at least she was found and you can put her to rest and remember the joy that pets bring i would not trade my two monster mutts even though they can be aggravating at times hopefuly everything returns to normal soon and you can get back into your hobbies
Jake
