Recently, I had the opportunity to revisit the Flying Heritage Collection in Everett, WA and wanted to share some photos with you.
First of all, if you haven’t heard of Paul Allen’s private collection / museum, I highly encourage you to check out their website and if at all possible, visit! What is that saying about the best things come in small packages? This museum might not have a massive amount of exhibits, but each and every one of them is of the very highest quality. I think one of the rules of this museum is that each and every exhibit has to be a combat veteran, which in itself is a tall order.
I had visited last year, however since then they have added several new items, and I’ve got a new camera so when business took me to California for two weeks, I hopped up to Seattle for my free weekend.

While everything in this place is a draw, for me the most outstanding is the two Fw 190s, both for different reasons. First, the D–13, which is the last of it’s kind - I’d call it the rarest of the rare. However, the A–5 is flying, and with it’s own BMW 801 engine - the only one in the world to do so.
Enough of me babbling, here are a few photos from the visit:

How about the A–5? One bad thing is that being summer, it’s quite bright during the entire time that the museum is open, and taking shots of my favorite angles of the A–5 were pretty degraded due to the intense backlighting…
A new addition since last time was a V2!
And a totally new hangar, next door! Last time I never did get any photos of Tallahassee Lassie; I fixed that this time!
