Yesterday (05 Feb 2014), I saw a new Dodge Charger of our county’s (Union County in North Carolina) sheriff’s department sporting a low-visibility paint scheme - the car was bright white, with very light gray sheriff’s department markings, and no external lights. It was almost like it was meant to be a military paint scheme. It made me look twice, because, at first, I thought it was an unmarked cruiser. Anybody seen this scheme before?
DD: Lo-Vis markings are somewhat common in high crime precincts, they are also used for traffic enforcement.
I haven’t seen that particular color, but the local police here in Olive Branch has (or had) a black Crown Vic with matte black decals, rather than the full color decals. No light bar on top either. Not quite sure why they felt the need to do that.
I have seen some “low profile” vehicles with different agencies around here. Not “slick cars”, but not traditional Black & Whites either.
No but I always giggle when I see a stripped down Crown Vic with black steel wheels and a shaved head guy driving it.

Yep, I’ve seen many lo-vis police schemes before, just not like this. Wish I had thought to take a picture, but then I would’ve gotten a ticket for taking a picture, while driving, of an unmarked/lo-vis police cruiser. I’m sure there are other laws I would’ve broken by taking that picture…
God knows they need it down here. People drive like idiots down here!

The best high-traffic area to drive in would be Indianapolis (my opinion), and it’s a tie for worst - Atlanta, Boston, and the Baltimore-Washington, DC, area. I’ve driven in LA a few times, and it’s not as bad as I’ve heard. Detroit probably has the worst roads to drive on, though…
