I like to photograph my models in a realistic setting using photo backdrops. However, I primarily use real sunlight for illuminuation. Here in Minnesota that means an outdoor exercise in my back yard, which means no winter pictures
Well, the snow has finally melted, and it was reasonably sunny yesterday, so I shot a couple of shots of the Revell midget I finished during the winter. In this pit scene the new Revell kit is the cream colored car in the foreground. The black car next to it is the old Etzel Speed Classics KK midget kit, and the third car, background, is the old Monogram 1:25 scale midget, with a Falcon engine from an AMT kit.
Car 2 is the Caruso Offy. The famous Bill Schindler was among the drivers.
You should be able to build that car with the Offy version of the new Revell kit. The Etzel kit came with a ton of decals for lots of versions of KK Offies. Most of us saved the decals we didn’t use. If you can find someone who still has the Caruso decals and painting instructions, you’d be in business.
