I’m trying the forum thing in the hope that I can get some help from knowledgable modelers regarding my lack of knowledge on how to get certain things done. My major issue involves the building of the old 1:48 scale kit of the B-17F by Revell. I realize that it has a dirth of detail so I bought the Monogram B-17G since it has much finer interior features. I also purchased the Verlinden upgrades for the G model knowing that I could use many of the parts in the F model. My question or maybe I should say questions are:
Does anyone know where I could find a different nose than the one provided in the F kit? I am trying to assemble a later model F with the astrodome and with the single 50 cal. sticking out of it. Plus I want to put in the cheek bulges and the two 50’s sticking out of them. What is the easiest and best way to cut out the bulges on the G and install them on the F. Thanks for any help you can render.

Thanks for the welcome, but that wasn’t exactly the Mustang Ranch I flew over when I was in navigator training and on an out and back from Sacramento to Hill AFB, which entailed flying over the State of Nevada

Thanks for the message. Loved the Helmet logo. I have my own from that god-awful time, but it doesn’t have the graffiti on it from"Full Metal Jacket". It brought back memories.
Thanks for the message. I too was able to pick up a Soviet Cap badge for my collection of militaria. Because of a great bit of luck I found mine with the cap attached in Berlin shortly after the Wall was tumbling down and I got a great picture of my wife chiseling at the Wall by a great big hole in it and an East German guard with a submachine gun watching her! He didn’t shoot.
Unfortunately the pix on my screen were too small to tell but was one of your ME-109’s from either JG-2 or JG26?
