I am new to the craft of building models. I build a few when I was in my teens, but I do not think that qualifies. I hope to get to know everyone, as this looks like a great deal of fun and something I can take a lot of pride in.

Yes, building models when you were young definitely qualifies-many of us have followed that same path, building as kids, leaving the hobby when we discovered girls and other things, and then we took the hobby up again later.
So buy a kit, starting building, have fun, because it’s a hobby and that’s what it’s all about, and don’t be shy about posting!
