New build started-Revell A6-E TRAM 1/48

Thanks so much Joe! I think that “macro” mode makes the LG and doors look dirtier than they really are; I think they’ll look fine once on the shelf or out at the airport. At any rate, I’ll let it be a lesson, I’m sure not re-doing them now.(I’m sloooow enough as it is, lol)

I sprayed the wheels flat white first and then sealed them with Future. After that dried, I did the trick with heavily thinned Humbrol 32 and let it flow around the rim, followed by increasing heavier applications. Sometimes I use a circle template, but these wheels didn’t have the rim raised enough for me to trust that.

Thanks Dre! Your compliment means a lot to me bro’. [B]

I’m glad you like it subfixer! Thanks a million for the encouragement!

Gary

Thanks for the info, tires are a pain to make look right. is there a conversion from Humbrol 32 to MM or tamiya?

Thanks

John

There might be John, but I’m not sure. I was looking for MM Euro I dark gray and my LHS (King’s Hobby in Austin, about 70 miles away-so much for local, huh?) told me that RLM 66 was a close match for that. That color is a bit lighter than Humbrol 32 though. But that said, maybe there is a darker gray that would match the Humbrol color.

If Humbrol isn’t available locally for you, of course it is possible to order. I found this:

I also found this chart, last updated in '06. Unfortunately it doesn’t show a direct conversion to MM.

Good luck!

Gary,

I have to go look at one of my less visited LHS that’s mostly trains, I think they might have it, or else I think I can order it direct from Squadron through the LHS I work at part time, it’s just not one we carry at all. Thanks for the info.

John

Oh cool, that would be fun to work at a hobby shop part time. Man, I could spend some money that way! You’re welcome for the info, hope it helps!
