Needing info on a Pzkpfw II LUCHS kit.

Hi, I’m needing info on the accurate armour kit of the pzkpfw II luchs. Is the kit a good buy or does it go together hard and is it accurate in size and shape? I’m not really familiar with this model maker and would welcome any and all info. Thanks in advance Mark.

I’ve heard it was a superb kit, but the newer Tasca one is plastic, cheaper and I think it was reviewed to be better.

In years previous: three resin kits of the Luchs existed. One each by Verlinden, H&K and Acc Armour. By far, the AA one was the best.

Later, two plastic companies produced their version: Techmod/Mirage & ICM. They were pretty good and inexpensive. Fairly accurate and lots were bought and built.

Finally, Tasca/Bego released their version and it constantly is cited in “best 1/35 kits”.

I would highly recommend the Tasca one because it’s a very well engineered kit in plastic. The AA one is resin and white metal. Building the Tasca one will yield a tremendously accurate kit and would be (in my opinion) a much more enjoyable build than Acc Armour.

I don’t know about you but I prefer injection plastic kits whenever possible (not that I’m fearful of full resin kits). My modelling time is premium and if there is an easier build out there while maintaining or surpassing accuracy, I’ll go there everytime.

[#ditto] Get plastic kit whenever possible. They are easier to glue. Just use you already own plastic glue instead of resin kit which you have to switch to superglue.

Ben

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I too prefer plastic and have look at the tasca kit. Its hard for me to spend around $50 on a model even if its worth it I’m kinda cheap. Found the AA kit for around $20 and thought I’d better look before I leap so I came here. Thanks again for the feedback.

You could probably sell it on eBay and a colloector or fan of AA kits would probably give you enough money to buy the Tasca kit. Either that, or just build the kit. It sounds like youve got a good deal.
