Need some confirmation on this.

How_low.

Just need to know if two or three light/misted coats of Tamiya x-22 gloss is safe enough for oil washes/fiters with Tamiya or Humbrol enamel thinner to go on top and not eat through.

Cheers! Appreciate any help.

If Tamiya x22 is an acrylic, which I’m pretty certain it is, then it will act as a barrier with the oil washes. You can also use Future as a barrier. Do your washes and then spray some flat to kill the shine.

X22 is acrylic so you will not have a problem. [Y]

FYI, X-22 doesn’t seem to work too well as a stand-alone clear overcoat. Even thinned, you aren’t likely to get very satisfactory results used as an clear overcoat…it’s best application is as an additive to Tamiya paints to increase the glossiness of the finish.
