Need imediate help, about to airbrush P-51B, and.........

(Hey this is just a quick one), what is the width of the invasion stripes for single a engine aircraft in 1/48.[:)]

Sorry about all my posts just got alot of questions I guess[:D]

G’day,

Both the Black and White are 3/8 in wide.

Rob.

OK, den how come it says in FMS that the stripes were 24 inches wide, in the 1/32nd scale they should be 3/4 inch. In the 1/48th scale they’re 18 inches and should be 1/2 inch?[%-)]

Yeah I was confused about that too thts why i came here.

I ran into this myself. On my 1/48th jug. I finally just looked at the photo of the aircraft that I was depicting and eyeballed the stripe width comparing width to features on the airplane. i.e…The white stripe starts and ends at these panels, and so forth. Came out really well.

Steve

On single engine fighter aircraft, the invasion stripes were 18" wide on wings & fuselage, or 3/8" in 1/48. On multi-engine aircraft the invasion stripes were 24" wide, or 1/2" in 1/48.

Thanks for all of your help guys, I just finished my P-51Bs invasion stripes and I cant belive how good they look on an aircraft. Now on to the next phase, the bare metel finish.
