I’m looking for photos of the nose of a P-39 equiped with the 37mm cannon. I don’t believe the kit part represents the prototype well at all but I don’t know exactly what corrections to make. So far, my google searches have come up empty.
Just got thru scanning my “P-39 In Action” There are no credited photos of the P-39D-2…the first model with the 37mm cannon (Serial #'s 41-38405 thru 41-38562)…there is however a Don Greer profile of a D-2…no gun barrel protruding from the spinner…the craft was based in North Africa according to text caption.
