Need help on paint removal

Does anybody know how to remove old paint (the whole plane) quickly and efficiently? I here that using oven cleaner works!(is this true)

Thanks

I’ve never tried paint removal myself, but the tip of the week on the front page of finescale.com deals with this very issue.

Yes, oven cleaner will remove paint. I like the brush on kind as it is less messy.

Easy Off is ok, but if you dont use
gloves, you loose finger and hand
sense for about two or three days.

Try with Break Fluid for Car
It has worked fine for some of my
old models.

Note: Use a brush and gloves, I dont
know if this causes cancer…

Easy-Off works just fine. The best way to do this is:

Seal off any openings in the kit that you don’t want to remove paint from.

Make sure you use gloves. Playtex Living Gloves work great for this.

Get a Tuperware bowl, or any SEALABLE container with an air-tight lid, that is large enough for the model to sit in and still close the lid.

CAREFULLY spray the Easy-Off on the model, completely covering it.

Place the model in the air-tight container, and close the lid tightly.

Let it sit for about 24 hours. It might not actually take that long, but, just to be on the safe side…

Take it out and rinse it THOROUGHLY with lots of water. All of the paint should be gone. If not, repeat.

Well, that’s how I did it anyway. I’ve only done it once, on a Chrysler Prowler model, and it worked great. Hope you have good results.
