Jwest21 was looking for photos of panther with a diamond zim pattern with a smooth background . I got to looking around and only could find a couple with the rippled background. However one of the photos has a panther with the diamond pattern on the hull, but (no matter how hard I looked) there appeared to be no zim on the turret. Atak sells a diamond zim pattern panther with the diamond pattern on the turret and the square pattern on the hull. I am now confused. I plan on doing a panther with the diamond pattern also and I am one who strives to be accurate. Does any one have some good photos of panthers with the diamond pattern to help clear up my confusion. Is the pattern on both the hull and turret? I had assumed it did before I looked around.

Congrats, Peridexion! Wonder if Verliden saw the Bergepanther pic and assumed it was just a Panther??
That sounds like a good idea. When the Bergepanther was converted from a Panther, do you supposed all the old zimm would be scraped off or would they not waste time (maybe explaining the large anount of damage in the pic above)

There was a guy here a few months back who said there was a pic of what might have been the Diamond tank in one of the Tank Power books, but he never got back to me as to which one. I figured I would buy it, but there seem to be 5 or 6 on the Panther alone

Actually, it was Arclight who said he saw one in one of the books , but then he disappeared from the forum. At $26 USD a book, I didn’t want to guess and then when he never responded, I just forgot about it
ive got all 7 Panther Tankpower books with the 8th on order
i have all the Sheifer books on Panthers, the Ryton book, the Kagero books and Trojka books i looked through all of them found the Bergpanther photo and a Panther Ausf A with one of the shulzen in the diamond zim,
i posted them in the Panther group build thread for a short time

Is it just me or is the diamond pattern a rare thing with few photos? Was it applied only for a short time? Could it be that this mysterious design was created by a board employee on a monday after working all weekend?
Or DRINKING all weekend. I will never give up the search to justify my unresearched purchase of the diamond zimm
