I recently completed only my second armor subject, and it was rather ambitious on my part, being Tamiya’s M26 recovery vehicle, kit # 35244. Having a background in car modeling, I wasn’t quite prepared for the challenges this kit presented, but I’m still proud of the end result. Nevertheless, in the final stages of decaling the vehicle, I goofed in applying decal 12, which is the USA 535230 marking, as well as the white ‘tips’ on the bumper, decal 14 (there are two numbered 14). I was wondering if anyone has built this and done an alternate decal scheme, and if so, do they have the spares that I need. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. Thanks!!!
I had considered painting the tips, but the bumper is already attached and all accessories are in place. I’m having thoughts of a nightmare experience if I try to paint them. If I can get the decals, I now know not to put Solvaset on them and then try to move them around. I messed up one tip that way, after successfully putting the other on, so I removed the other one as well (I now realize I should have left it on). The side decal was put on and shifted a bit without my noticing. By the time I caught it, it was too late to re-position it.
