Need some comments before I start to weather. Thanks!
First thing that comes to mind is that the tracks are too tight.
are the tracks supposed to be rusty or muddy? and as buff said should have a sag in them
Right now they have rust on them. I haven’t added the mud or dust to them. I guess I am going to have to glue or pin them down inorder to have a sag. Thanks for the comments!
there is definately to much rust on them unless it is a vehichle that has been sitting around for a long time.
if the vehichle is on the move transporting troops or equipment i dont think there would be any or very little rust. you would have more of a worn effect with more of a bare metal finsh showing through on the tracks . rust wouldnt have a real chance of being that bad riding over streets, fields, dirt roads or where ever they are driving.
thanks for posting the pics and keep us updated on your build

I can only offer some comments on the Tamiya SdKfz 7. The suspension, track and footprint as offered in the kit are inaccurate.
Fruilmodel offers a track set which includes corrected drive sprockets. The kit suspension must be extensively modified to accept the AM tracks.
Secondly, the seat covers were a rough canvas material, simply brush painting them really is unrealistic, especially if you go “top down”. I used thin ply tissue paper, laid down with white glue, to roughen the texture on the seats. Also, I see some brown paint errors on the structure, try masking off the seats so you down get excess paint where it should not be.
first the corrected track and suspension:

Not that you would want to invest in more $ and a complete lower rebuild at this point, but this may help others or yourself in the future.
The Fruil track will not build to the unmodified kit suspension because the inner roadwheel spacing is incorrect and will only accept the “rubberband” track string.
As a side note, each of the Fruil links need to be drilled to accept the track pins, quite a tedious chore.

Thank you for the advise! You have a great build there Steve. I wish I could aford the Fruil tracks. As far as the rust I can probaly wash it off and give it a more metalic look to it.
I started out painting them flat black and then painted on some real rust mixed with water, followed by some dry brushing of oily steel.
Sounds like a good start. You may be able to go right over the rust, leaving tell tale signs of it. Or, just mud them up or dust them as I have done. Remember that each track block has a rubber pad. These should be a flat black or flat rubber color, then weathered. Good luck with your projects.

The build looks great.I would reccomend some shading and highlighting. This will make a lot of little details really stand out.
