need airbrush help

I have never been a master with the Air Brush, but I get by OK. I get pretty good results with enamels, But when I try acrylics the results are horrible. Ive been getting a lot of splattering.

I have been using a testers brush with the red tip (general purpose,I think)

You might try lowering your psi to around 10. Plus, acrylics tend to dry quickly on the tip or needle of the brush as well. This will obstruct the paint flow and cause splatter. I use flow aid by Liquitex and it helps.

i quit using my testor AB and got a badger. Big improvement! i know what you are talking about with the accrylics. it was driving me so nuts i quit using acrylics and now use enamels only. very frustrating.

Well i’ve had the same problem with my Badger , and with Tamiya and MM acrylics as well . This subject has come up before and some say to use a " retarder" for acrylcs .
