Howdy. I’ve been surfing the net for the last two and a half months gathering what I think are the items needed to build up a decent facsimile of this SPG.

Is there anything that might come in handy that I don’t have, besides skill that is?[:S]
Thanks
Tony Lee[:)]
Oh boy Tony, looks like another fun build! You thinking of doing it up in winter camo?
Brian
Ahh brings back memories trying to clean up all the individual track links with 5 pour stubs each! No wonder it took all of winter 2008-2009 build season to complete.[^o)] I see you have found suitable after market goodies to bring the kit to a higher level. I would have done it the same accept for the track links. AM for sure next Alan kit.
Mine turned out ok so I thought a picture may get ya motivated Tony…

- note the styrene lifting off the base in the above photo, the white glue did not fully cure and this photo session was in -30 C weather! Its all good as it was planned to remove the model with styrene base for a diorama, then the custom granite and hard wood display base could be used again.[I]

Cold it was! The digital camera’s zoom froze half open! Anyhow my favorite scratch built detail on this build is the open breech block with hollow barrel bore. Built the barrel around a 1/8 aluminum tube… very close I.D. to be scale 75mm, or in this case 76.2mm
Brian i’ve already white washed one of my builds and I ain’t got over that experience yet.
Thanks for the review Panzer i’ll read over those in the morning with my coffee.
SF I think I read something about this build somewhere else but don’t remember just where,I love it.
I’ve got two kits, i’ll build one with the mesh on the rear and the other with the armor plate back there. Now i’ve got to find one of those Bison II kits. Did anybody else make one besides Alan?
Thanks

How’s the weather in sunny S.W. Missouri buddy?Been quite nice but windy up this way.I believe I saw an ARK models version of that ugly duckling on the Evil-bay. Been kinda quiet on your end but active. Myself ,I got into an accident with my wifes SUV so I’m staying low. Really messed up the rear fender, but you should see the other guys rig. WOW! Will send some pics momentarily.
You mean you can still type with broken arms and fingers?[:XX]
Yep it’s starting to warm up with a cold snap now and then like tonight and tomorrow that’s why I got the 76 back out, the paint is fixin to fly.
ARK Models, never heard of them but Thanks i’ll go have a look see.

Looks like you’re all set Tony! The only thing you might want to add (if it’s not already in the resin set) is a turned aluminum barrel. Since this one mounts the rechambered Russian gun, you might look into one from Jordi Rubio which is what I used on my Marder III build last year and I was very happy with the result.
As for your question on the Bison II, the Alan kit is the only game in town I’m afraid, at least for now. [;)]
Good news Bill the “Aluminum Barrel” came with the K-59 kit. [Y] I kinda figured Alan was the only one but you know me, I just gotta have one.[snYea]
SPGs Forever[ht]
Tony Lee[:)]
Supression, that is really cool man. Got anymore pics of it.
Tony, this kit seems right up your alley. [Y]
Hi Tony,Looks like your all set…I’m sure its going to look GREAT…Monty
Tigerman, I just have two more picture of it on photobucket. Ex mother-in-law got a hold of it and my other builds so I am afraid it may have suffered battle damage.[8o|]
Tony, I had posted pictures of it in the forums a while back. You may be thinking of 'Great Scale Modeling 2010’ page 33[H] Funny you spoke of the Bison II, the Alan kit is in Marine Hobbies, Halifax along with a AFV Club wheel and track link set for the 38t. Hopefully they will bring them to the contest and show this weekend! [^o)]I better phone ahead to make sure…,[I]
Last two pictures from my photobucket album, hopefully its repairable when I get back to sort out divorce mess…[bnghead]

Tony, one more bit of information…
The Alan decals will shatter once wet! After market is your best option as I am sure you have this covered.[Y]
hey Tony i know i’ll be amazed on however you build it,
Clay
