Have any of you, well , I,m sure some have seen , the cover of the mag ? That is one beautiful MIG on the cover ! You know , when I go through all that, I use different shades of BARE METAL FOIL . I will say, for paints , I have to admit that the finish is absolutely fantastic .The idea of buffing all that is daunting though. I seem , here in NEW BRAUNFELS , TEXAS to generate a whole lot of static on the sirface of the model . I sometimes can,t seem to make it go away either . I don,t know if it,s the humidity or what .I have a " JUG " all ready for matalizing and it looks , after two weeks of not being handled , as if it needs a shave .Ladies with the real fine hairs on their upper lip could relate to this . It just seems to grow .This is after carefully washing it in soap and water and letting it air -dry. Now , where or how can I stop this. I did an F-100 for the replacement of a plane that was never returned to me .I won a "gold "medal for it , bUT , it had to be the best natural metal foil finish I ever produced . And I was living on a boat in the northern CALIFORNIA delta !! That plane was absulutely the best non flawed natural metal anything I ever did . I wonder could I be generating the static electricity in the shop area ? I do a lot of soldering on a daily basis.I want the " JUG " to turn out flawless .I would even break out my airbrush and use the ALCLAD-2 I recently got to do car bumpers . I am a little cramped for space though.I share the garage shop area with my landlady .She does kick-butt stained glass stuff . She hasn,t been out there in four months as she is learning a new way to do glass stuff.Does anyone have any suggestions that will let me do my planes and have them come out like the cover aircraft ? tankerbuilder
