NASA's New Infinity Scace Science Learning Center

Today was a special day for me, I was invited as a guest to the ribbon cutting of NASA’a newest Science Learning Center - Exhibit at the Stennis Space complex, the New Infinity Museum. On hand were the usual suspects. But the thrill was meeting and having a photo taken with Astronaut Fred Haise of the Apollo 13 Crew.

The new exhibit traced mans exploration from the earths earliest history to our Mars Explorer and of course to Infinity. I was able to take a few pictures with the cell camera. The new museum takes the place of the smaller Stennis exhibit at the Mississippi State Visitors Center.

In case you’re wondering what’s so special about the Stennis Complex? It’s where they test many of the propellent/rocket motors used in the space program. I’ve been on hand for a test, man our Engines got NOTHING on these bad boys.

Enjoy the pictures.

Here are some of of the Center from the Tiimes Picayune - really good ones. The pictures of Mr. Haise and the Infinity Eagle dedicated to him is really worth a screen shot.

Congrats on the opportunity!

Its a strange feeling for me to see these Apollo era and before astronauts when my memory of them is as young rocket jocks. Its kinda like seeing a candid pic of youself and thinking “crap, is that me, i look like my grandpa!!!”

That sounds like a cool museum! Too bad it’s not at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California.[:(]
