My Wish List & minor rant

I build mostly in 1/48. Don’t have room for the bigger scales.

Here are a few of my wants.

What I think some (a lot) people forget is that some of the larger scaled kits are older than the people building them.[:D]

Heh, Steel on target, Wingz… Dunno how many times I’ve seen a “new” kit and the only “New” thing about it is the box art and decals… “Hey! I built this same kit in 1967!”…[:D]

Since we’re talking wish lists…

I’d love to see a 1/32 Martin B-26B. It’s one of my fav planes of all time

John No due you have a link for the story on the C-5 I have never been any good in vac-form and resin would be out of my price range. I seen 2 141’s in vac form go for 150+ last year on ebay

J.J. It was in the January 1995 issue of FSM Cover Story. Re-reading the article he said it was a tough build. Lots of gap filling super glue. Hope this helps JOHN

oooOH! Good call!

James,

Have you seen the new Bf110 C7 that will be released soon from Dragon? Seems like it has some engine detail; don’t know about the full interior. Check here:

Edit: Oh, crap. I need to remind myself to read the entire thread before responding. Sorry for repeating what has already been said. [banghead]

Great, now I’m going to HAVE to buy the Dragon Bf-110, which will probably cost $250 and be too big to put anywhere.

I would rilly rilly love for a Tamiya or Hase to make an accurate OV-10 Bronco (ie, something better than the awful Testors kit). Man, I love that ugly plane. Probably because they used to fly over my house constantly, back in the Eighties.

As much as I love building 1/32 aircraft kits, their cost and size do limit them for me. I really like standadizing in 1/48 kits for aircraft I build. In that scale I would love to see:

1)B-26A as used at Midway

2)CG-4A Glider (with two C-47 kits currently available and an AS-51 Horsa coming, why not?)

3)AH-1G Cobra, with options regarding tail rotor and exhaust (yes it’s a copter…)

4)UH-34 Sea Horse (yes another copter… still a type of aircraft though)

5)A-3 Skywarior/B-66 Destroyer-I know the “commonality” is minimal, but it exists.

Personally I would rather see Revell-Monogram tackle them as some of their last airraft kits (Rafale M, F-15E, F-84E, F/A-18E/F, JU-52 3m) were on par with anything out of the Far East, and markedly less costly.

BTW, it’s nice to see they are bringing back their B-58 and EA-6B kits!

I would love to see someone besides Testors produce a 1/48th, or even 1/32nd, North American/Rockwell OV-10 Bronco (any version). And maybe a 1/144 C-17 Globemaster III.

Harv—Anigrand just did a 1/144 C-17 but its resin. Yeah I wouldn’t mind a new Bronco too. How about having RevMon re-tool a bunch of there older stuff. Century series F-80, B-17, B-24, B-29, B-25J&H, B-58, A-6/EA-6, even the fairly new A-26, A-37.

well I might as well join the bandwagon!

  • a 1/48th PV-1 Ventura and the ability to build it as an RAF plane as well as a U.S. one

  • 1/48th B-26K Counter Invader

  • a 1/48th f-100F wild weasle

  • a 1/48th F-100D

  • a true korean War F86 in 1/48th

  • a p-63 kingcobra in 1/48th

I know that kit, because I have it in the stash. That’s not a 1/72 but a 1/100. A very primitive kit, no cockpit, no wheel wells etc.
