Blackwolf has started a very cool tribute the Twin Tailed Tomcat and thought I’d share the photos I took while I was stationed on the USS Ranger. I was in Crash, so I carried my camera all the time while I was on deck. These are by no means professional, but I feel they give a good representation of of the Tomcat while out to sea. To start, here are my VF-1 Wolfpack pix. I hope y’all enjoy them.[:D]
And a couple of me with the mightiest bird in the fleet[:D]. The 1st one is just one next to my favorite aircraft on deck. The next one is me( bent over with the non-military tube socks[:D]) on top of a Tomcat that got blown into the catwalk, preparing for a lift.
Alright, the last installment. The first part is a mix bag of VF1&2 and one of the Sundowners. They were aboard for CARQUALS. After that, the rest are of Tomcats that I couldn’t tell what squadron they were from and a few from airpower demos for VIPs. I’m glad y’all enjoyed them and LONG LIVE THE TOMCAT!!

This one is from the fly off the day we came home from Desert Storm[:D]
Supersonic fly bys; I’ve got a good sea story for one of these. On one occasion, a F-14 asked permission to do a S.S fly by and it was granted. Seems the word didn’t get to the helo squardon fast enough, because before the helo guys could make up to open the doors on the H-3s, the Tomcat made his pass and the shockwave(overpressure?) popped all the emergency egress windows out of the helos. Needless to say, the Boss was not too happy.[(-D]
