Way cool, thanks for sharing your experience. Just saw an ad here , Aluminum Overcast is coming to Seattle real soon. $6 or so just to crawl through the aircraft (I have ALWAYS wanted to study a B-17 belly ball turret close up _ those gunners had cojones the size of bowling balls), and I think something $350 to fly in her.
Ya, if I didn’t have two 16 year old new drivers going on our auto insurance, I would have sprung the $350 plus and gone for a ride! [sigh]
I’m glad you’ll have a chance to go see it in Seattle. I believe Keith Anderson lives in WA, so he might be there. I don’t know if he’d remember us or not, but if you see him, tell him Scott and Patti that he met in Truckee say hello. [:)]
Oh and ya, the ball turret, that’d be a scary place to hang for a few hours. [:O]
Cool espins. I learned more about my camera in 5 seconds than I have in the 2 years I’ve had it.
And that really is a good story about Keith Anderson.
I think we should have a permanent thread here on the forums devoted strictly to interviews, chats, conversations or any interaction with WW2 vets.
Its just an idea but I think since we are losing our history everyday it would be a positive move towards remembering the sacrifices they made.
My 2 c’s
