my sanger 1/48 avro lincoln [ pics ]

Seriously?!? Do you remember where you saw it? The only reason I know about it is because a found a drawing done by an artist who had a friend who worked for Avro and saw the design on a desk. I would really like to see that 1/48 one, though… my goodness, it must have had, what, a seven foot wingspan?

Moved on from paper then. Air Enthusiast covered Argentine Lincolns; must be at least two years ago. I think they were prepared by Avro at Langer.

Used to see some big four-engined thingies flying over the house to land at Hucknall when I was about 4 or 5. Had strange contraptions around the nose. I asked my father what they were and he said they were to do with radios. Now I think they were for spraying water for icing experiments. Don’t know if they were Lancasters or Lincolns.

Will you be attempting the 1/24 resin Lancaster?

I promised you some photos of LL807 but you didn’t tell me your email addres. I’ve discovered how to post photos since then but here probably isn’t the right place. I’ll open up a new thread.

hya, the model bomber was at RAF COSFORD in the u.k, it was at the side of a 1/48 avro vulcan, i can’t find any pic’s of the models at cosford sorry… ian.

all the best … ian

Looked more like the top one - Lincoln. Don’t remember the engine in the nose - but it must have been about 1960, maybe even a bit earlier.

Great looking build. Hopefully my 1/144 version will “fall together” shortly.

bump !

Wow. That looks excellent. Really nice job.

Now that can be called a masterpiece. Superb workmanship, very well done indeed.[tup]
