Man Roosta learn to read the post before you reply. we do it
Jeff,
I am reminded of Metallica’s “My Friend of Misery” in regards to his posts. [:D]
Mike
Mike-V’s posts always make me think of Lavaging Expectorate Of Lysergide Composition from the album, Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious
I used to do that myself. It was great fun and I loved it dearly. My teacher was taught by a little old man named Helio Gracie. I finally had to quit after I twisted my knee out of socket while throwing someone. I tore my acl and pcl and meniscus, so that was the end of it for me. For a while at least, until I can get my knee rehabed better.
I’m an artist also [:)]
I’m glad to see that someone else is satisfied with their 155. I have been happy with mine. The rubber trigger cap stays on mine without CA.
And to anyone who says that the trigger cap is for little girls, I’d just like to say that my Barbie can whup your Barbie. [B)]
As Doctor Evil would say…Rrrright!
Mike
Wow Josh, I never knew that. [:0]
The Gracie’s are good! The artist I was talking about is Jason Livery who has been featured in Airbrush Action before. He is good!
Mike
Do you have a link to any of his stuff Mike?
I loved fighting, it was great fun and excercise as well. What was difficult for me was to get my head in a place where I didn’t fight like the big man. As Calvin always said, stregnth is good, but technique will make you 10 times stronger than your muscles will.
I’ve lifted weights my whole life, well, since my freshman year of high school anyway, so I was incredibly strong, and much larger than my instructors, but Calvin, who was probably 5’5" to my 6’ and 140 to my 260, would routinely whip my butt. Talk about having the ego beaten out of you.
Sadly, I had a lapse and was being the big man when I destroyed my knee. It’s not a good feeling to twist the socket apart like that. It wasn’t even a real throw the way they should be done, I just grabbed the guys arms and tossed him. He hung onto the sleeves of my gi. I had planted my foot thinking I was done moving, his momentum twisted my knee apart. I still miss training a lot of the time.
Josh,
This is Jason’s website.

He does some of the most realistic flames you will ever see.
Mike
Yep, that is good stuff. I do love his flames. I lke that style of flame way better than I like the traditional or tribal flames.
Have you ever watcher “Overhaulin” on TLC? They did a truck in the first episode that had really great flame work. I don’t remember the guy’s name who did them, but he had a great technique. I love to see that kind of thing.
I’ve never seen that show Josh.
I am on the computer too much. [:D]
Mike
hey mikey, hasn’t everybody been a future “football/baseball/basketball” star before they “blew” out there knee?!![;)][:P] i think ol’ joshy pooh here is pullin’ our leg…he’s really some little sawed off punk that weighs a buck thirty on a good day!!LOL[(-D][;)][:P] couldn’t beat his way out of a wet paper bag!!LOL…just joshin’ ya there josh!!LOL …gee…hope he’s not on his way to LA!!
in all seriousness, ain’t that Gracie fellow the one who won several years in a row by clamping on to people and would break a bone unless they gave up? a rather small guy compared to most that fought in those comps. he kinda “slithered” his way around people’s body like a python and they couldn’t escape his grasp, then he’d find something to break. pretty cool…have i got the right guy? later.
Chris,
I think you are thinking of Hoyce Gracie.
What is the relation Josh? There are a LOT of Gracie’s.
Mike
thats exactly who i’m talkin’ bout mike!! i couldn’t think of his first name. the only thing i didn’t like about him, the fights were kinda boring, but effective. later.
The art I studied for 2 years involves a lot of joint locks and pressure point strikes also. That stuff hurts. [:D]
Mike
It’s actually Royce, but in Portugese the r is pronounced with an h sound. Calvin always would talk about heversals instead of reversals.
Helio is Royce’s dad. Calvin lived with them for several years, then moved back to the states. Helio is in fact the dad of all the fighting Gracies. Their style is really effective because Jiu jitsu was originally really a fighting art, rather than a sport fighting style. It was honed of useless forms and whatnot by years and years of no holds barred fighting.
